The Baobab tree is regarded as the largest succulent plant in the world, it is called the tree of life and surrounded by lot of superstition in Africa because of its “mystical powers”. It also provides food, shelter water and traditional medicine hence its name “TREE OF LIFE”.

The baobab tree is native to the very remote areas of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, and other tropical countries where favorable climate is available to support its existence. Surrounded by the sounds and smells of African vegetation, this iconic tree can live up to 2000 years and the biggest baobab tree ever recorded has a circumference of over 43metres!

Market

Baobab oil is sold all over the world because of its healing powers and impressive skincare abilities. There is market for the baobab oil all over the world, but the major market is in Africa, Asia and some part of America. This miraculous anti-aging oil moisturizes and encourages skin cell regeneration with vitamins A, D and E.

Uses

Baobab oil is mainly used for skincare purposes with respect to its excellent softening, healing and rejuvenating properties.

Production

Baobab oil is made from the fruit seeds which are extracted and air dried in the hot sun. These seeds can be stored for many months before pressing. It is made by a single, cold pressing process. A press or expeller squeezes the oil from the baobab seed. The freshly pressed oil is immediately filtered to help clarify the oil which is then bottled.
